The 11 th Annual Shining Star Gala is an opportunity for us to celebrate the people who make a difference in the lives of students in Ward 8, the most under-served community in Washington, DC. It is also an opportunity to close the roughly $4,000 per-student gap between the cost of providing an excellent education and our public funding. The 10th Annual Shining Star Gala will succeed because of the dedication of our supporters.

The 11th Annual Shining Star Gala will feature a silent auction during the cocktail reception. Do you have or know of something that would make a good auction item? We are particularly interested in the following items:

Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are crucial to our successful event, and we are excited to involve interested people. We will ask volunteers to dress in formal (black tie optional) clothing and attend one short training.
