Payment Plan Options

Thurgood Marshall Academy provides payment plan options to families/guardians on a case by case basis. These options are available to those families/guardians that may need the extra time to remedy dues owed to the school. Fees incurred by the student at any time are the responsibility of the parent or guardian.

Common Core Standards

Thurgood Marshall Academy has implemented the Common Core Standards in reading and math as part of the District of Columbia initiative to adopt the Common Core Standards. The Common Core Standards have been adopted by over 40 states and can be accessed here.

The Common Core Standards layout what students should know and be able to do in kindergarten through twelfth grade. The new standards will help parents, teachers, and community members understand what students should learn each year.

Inclement Weather Policy

Facility Status: Please call (202) 563-6862 to learn the facility’s status

Thurgood Marshall Academy follows the DCPS-announced closings and delays due to inclement weather. Local radio stations and television stations will announce DCPS closings.

In the event of a neighborhood- or building-wide problem, Thurgood Marshall Academy’s status will be listed on this webpage. We will endeavor to communicate any local closings to staff, students, and parents quickly.

Fire & Evacuation Plan

Thurgood Marshall Academy has adopted an emergency readiness plan for its school and after-school programs. All faculty, staff, and students receive training on emergency procedures. Specific information regarding each plan can be found below:
