This year’s Celebrating Our Roots featured artists and writers from the Harlem and New Renaissance movements. 
Students represented Alain Locke, Carter G Woodson, and Marcus Garvey in the “Philosophy Room”.

Mahogany Books founder Derrick Young, along with Panama Jackson and DJs 2-Tone Jones and One Luv, share how hip-hop is influenced by literature. 
Closing program featured models, dancers, and spoken word performances.
