TMA Podcast – Making Connections

In episode One of the Making Connections Podcast, Jason S. and Jermaine S. share their thoughts about truth, happiness, and censorship in Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451. The young men also make connections between the fictitious society in the book and the world they live in.

In episode two, hosts Jadelyn R., Zyiah S., Azara W., and Dwayne T. discuss the theme of truth in the book, Fahrenheit 451 and connect actions by the government in the book to actions by the Alabama legislature to limit diversity, equity and inclusion education in schools.

In episode three of Making Connections, Chanyla W., Kayla C., Nyema J., and Esther J. explore the message Ray Bradbury embedded in his novel for future generations. Listen as these GenZers discuss the theme of media as a distraction in the novel and in their world.

In the final episode of the series, hosts Aaron, Phillip, Ashley, Dillon, and Tamia discuss the themes of truth and happiness and the role that disinformation plays in the book and the real world. The students not only examine the effects of truth and happiness on the characters but also examine their own relationships with the truth and their personal happiness.
