  • Read the results email sent from MSDC

  1. Complete Registration Process (Information will be emailed to you)
    • Present acceptable Proof of DC Residency (Scroll down) 
    • Complete online registration
    • Submit all required documents
      • Half or full-page student birth certificate showing
        enrolling parent name
      • Proof of legal guardianship (court order), if applicable
      • IEP and/or 504 plan (if applicable)
      • 8th-grade final report card or unofficial transcript for 10th/11th-grade applicants
      • Submit your current immunization record and health and dental forms by August 21, 2025

SY 2025-26 ENROLLMENT GUIDANCE FOR NEW FAMILIES

(MATCHED STUDENTS AND WAITLIST ADMISSIONS)

Congratulations on your admission to Thurgood Marshall Academy Public Charter High School for the 2025-26 school year! We are excited to welcome you to the Warrior Family! Please follow the steps below to accept your seat and enroll for the 2025-26 school year. The registration process for MATCHED students must be completed by Thursday, May 1, 2025. A TMA team member will contact families by phone to welcome you to the TMA community and registration steps will be shared by email! Please be sure your contact information (phone number/email address) is current.

WAITLIST ADMITS have until the date included in their welcome email to complete the registration process. A TMA team member will contact families via phone to welcome you to the TMA community! Please be sure your contact information (phone number/email address) is current. 

STEP 1:

The enrolling guardian must submit their unexpired District of Columbia Driver’s License or non-driver’s ID and acceptable Proof of DC Residency in person or virtually.

Please have the following documents present: 

  • Enrolling Parent/Guardian ID
  • Half or full-page student birth certificate showing
    enrolling parent name
  • Proof of legal guardianship (court order), if applicable
  • One (1) proof of DC residency documentation (scan and upload or
    submit a clear, legible photo and upload) from the list of options below

Option A – Paystub issued within the past 30 days and must contain withholding of only DC personal income tax for the current tax year and no other states listed for the deduction, even if the amount is zero. It must also show a DC personal income tax withholding amount greater than zero for both the current tax year and the current pay period. The enrolling parent/guardian’s name and current address must be displayed OR

Option B – Unexpired official documentation of financial assistance from the Government of the District of Columbia (i.e., TANF, Medicaid, SCHIP, Housing Assistance, Supplemental Security Income, etc.) issued within the past 12 months, displaying the enrolling parent/guardian name and current address OR

Option C – District of Columbia Driver’s License AND District of Columbia’s vehicle registration (both documents must be unexpired, and names and addresses must match) OR

Option D -District of Columbia Driver’s License or DC non-driver’s identification card AND two consecutive utility bills (electric, gas, and water only) issued within the last two months. The second bill must show payment on the first bill.

STEP 2: Once Proof of DC residency has been received and verified, the enrolling guardian will receive their registration link to the online registration portal. 

STEP 3: The following documents need to be submitted by July 1, 2025. 

  • IEP and/or 504 plan (if applicable),
  • Final report card showing promotion (entering 9th-grade students)
  • Official end-of-year transcript (10th and 11th-grade students)

Students must meet Thurgood Marshall Academy PCHS’s transfer requirements for the applied grade.

STEP 4: Submit current immunization records and health and dental forms by August 21, 2025.

SUMMER PREP

Summer prep introduces incoming 9th—and 10th-grade students to Thurgood Marshall Academy (TMA) and helps them successfully transition to the Warrior community. The program runs during July (dates and times will be shared by email). Students participating in the D.C. Department of Employment Services (DOES) Marion Barry Summer Youth Employment Program can use Summer Prep as their summer job. Students must register with DOES and complete registration at TMA.

SY 2025-26 ENROLLMENT GUIDANCE FOR RETURNING STUDENTS

RETURNING students have until Friday, May 31, 2025, to complete the registration process.

STEP 1: The enrolling guardian must submit their unexpired District of Columbia Driver’s License or non-driver ID and acceptable Proof of DC Residency. Please see below for acceptable Proof of Residency Documentation.
